I am a 2nd Generation Prosthetic Clinician born and raised in SF. I grew up around the industry and became interested in fabricating prosthetic limbs when I volunteered at the SFVA medical center. During the summers in my early college years I worked at the VA learning how to fabricate, fit and adjust prosthetic limbs for our veterans. Being able to give back to those that have sacrificed so much was one of the best experiences. These experiences shaped my direction and I decided to enter the field of prosthetics.
I studied Orthotics and Prosthetics at CSU Dominguez Hills and completed my residency at San Francisco Prosthetics and Orthotics. I worked in the Bay Area for the next 11 years continuing my learning about prosthetic/orthotic designs, fitting techniques and gaining experiences that my patients benefit from every day. I have fabricated and assisted in designing specialty prosthetics for exercise, work, and performing arts such as running, basketball, bowling, cycling, weight lifting, dancing, motor cycling and many others. This does not take away from the importance and enjoyment of providing high quality prosthetics for our patients of greater need. Some of the hardest challenges we face are with the patients that have limitations because of other health related problems. All of our patients deserve the appropriate device to fit at the optimum level to allow them to access the joy of life. I recently moved back to the Bay Area and looking forward to being a part of the Sierra Prosthetic & Orthotic team.
